Former referee Paolo Casarin has reflected upon Inter’s 2-1 win over Fiorentina in an interview with Corriere della Sera and paid particular attention to the VAR decision that awarded Inter a penalty.

“It was a game that saw a lot of fouls, 38 to be precise. The penalty decision? The ball touches the hand of Viola defender Vitor Hugo, something that only Mauro Icardi seemingly sees. Referee Paolo Mazzoleni then sees it with technology and it convinces him to whistle for a penalty.”
