Sampdoria manager Marco Giampaolo believes his side’s performances have warranted more points than what they have achieved from the past two league games with Cagliari and Inter, he revealed in an interview with cagliarinews24.com.

“I was expecting a match like that against Cagliari. They started as well as they did against Milan but in the second half we got ourselves back in to the game. We created some chances and we had the chance to win the game at the death with a penalty but did not. Between this game and the one with Inter we have lost three points.”

Samp drew 0-0 with the Sardinian club last night away from home while they lost 1-0 to Inter through a late strike from Marcelo Brozovic in a match that saw VAR cancel out a total of three goals, one of which belonged to them. Had Sampdoria picked up the extra three points across the two games, they would have been on 11 points and in fourth place rather than ninth place with eight points.
