Former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has reflected upon Inter’s win over Fiorentina on Tuesday night in an interview with Radio Bruno Toscana.

“It is always emotional watching Inter and Fiorentina play one another and despite working with the Nerazzurri the feelings are always very divided. Fiorentina proved themselves to be a beautiful team and could have achieved a draw but Inter won instead. I hope that after the result the Inter team begins to feel a bit more secure in itself as it should not be as shy as it was.

Toldo, who spent nine years at Inter between 2001 and 2010 during his playing days, also spoke on two of the key incidents of the match, the penalty awarded to Inter via VAR and Kwadwo Asamoah avoiding being sent off.

“VAR gave Inter a penalty that was one. What do I think of Asamoah not being given a second yellow card? I prefer not to speak on such incidents,” he concluded.
