Inter legend Mario Corso was among the panelists at the La Triennale event as part of Milano Calcio City and spoke on his manager Helenio Herrera, the mastermind behind the Grande Inter side of the 1960s.

“Herrera was a state-of-the-art coach. He could convince the not as good players that they were in fact good,” he told those in attendance.

He proceeded to discuss the time when Herrera flat out lied to him when it came to trying to sell him on.

“He had decided that I, Guarneri and Picchi had to leave the club. In the end we did not leave and he asked the president why he did not sell any of us. He then came to tell us that the president wanted to sell us and it was not his idea, which was a lie. Unfortunately though I was sold in 1974 when Ivanoe Fraizzoli was president of Inter.”
