Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport are reporting on Lautaro Martinez and the potential for him to start tonight’s game against Cagliari.

“Lautaro could start the game against Cagliari tonight, because Luciano Spalletti wishes to give the youngster a chance to play after coming back from a long injury while also giving Icardi a rest ahead of Inter’s Champions League game against PSV Eindhoven. It is likely that Lautaro will start from the beginning and then be subbed off for Icardi once he runs out of gas tonight.”

El Toro was injured before the game against Bologna, a game in which he could have definitely been a starter. Lautaro needs to recover his form and give his best for Inter.

“The decision on who will play will only be taken today as Spalletti is still considering his options. It is thought that Lautaro will replace Icardi tonight instead of play with him as Spalletti is temporarily stopping the idea of making the two coexist. The two Argentinians are also going to be reunited for their international game against Brazil on October 16th, five days after the Derby.”
