Inter managed to record their third victory in a row in the Serie A after defeating Cagliari 2-0 at home in front of over 55000 spectators at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in Milano’s San Siro district.
The Nerazzurri started the game very positively and Lautaro Martinez thanked Spalletti for starting him in the best possible way by scoring his first competitive goal for Inter early in the first half.
After the interval Inter dropped deeper but still maintained control and should and could have scored the second goal much sooner. Instead it came towards the end of the match when yet another summer signing who scored his first competitive goal for the club since joining, namely Matteo Politano.
