The Milan derby may still be three weeks away but excitement is beginning to grow ahead of the famous match and former Inter goalkeeper Francesco Toldo has spoken on its unpredictability.
“Two very different teams will take to the pitch and the result for this match is always unpredictable. What happens on the pitch can tell a completely opposite story to what is expected,” Toldo said during an event as part of the wider Milano Calcio City event.
Toldo, who played for Inter between 2001 and 2010, then spoke on the use of VAR and his comments would suggest that he is in fact in favour of its use.
“VAR is improving football. With it, it means there is no culture of suspicion.”
The first Derby della Madonnina is scheduled to take place on October 21 and will be each sides first match back after the upcoming international break. Kick-off for the match is scheduled for 20:30 CET.
