Fabio Capello has reflected upon Inter’s 2-1 win over PSV Eindhoven last night in an interview with Italian broadcaster Sky Sport.

“I extend my congratulations to Spalletti for the victory. I am a fan of Mauro Icardi. He is a very strong player and very important for Inter. In my opinion he played a good match and the goal came thanks to his stubbornness. The Argentine managed to give something more, compared to other circumstances in which he was a little opaque. In Eindhoven his performance was flawless.”

Capello, who last managed Inter’s Chinese cousins Jiangsu Suning, then spoke on what he thinks of Inter as a team this season.

“I see a different Inter to the one that started the season. Now the players are on the pitch to win. The team has regained confidence and it’s easy to see Italian football is getting better in Europe and this is great news.”
