In the past few months Marcelo Brozovic has become an essential part of Inter manager Luciano Spalletti’s side, so much so that Spalletti requested he was not sold and the directors focused on signing players in other positions during the summer transfer window according to Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

“It was a love born officially last spring, after months of courtship, after many times disappointing attempts and sometimes interlocutors, but then here is the passion, so strong as to make Brozovic an essential player in the tactical chessboard of Luciano Spalletti.

“Spalletti told the Croatian and the Inter leadership that he would stay and then he suggested to Ausilio and Gardini to concentrate on other roles to strengthen the team. Only the arrival of Modric could have changed something. Brozovic has been crucial to Luciano and this start to the season and Europe is taking note of his performances.”
