Former Inter defender Francesco Colonnese looked back to last week’s Champions League win over PSV in an interview with Terzo Tempo.

“Inter started the game badly, then they reacted and overturned the result against a PSV team that had not lost at home up until then this season. It was a huge victory.”

Colonnese, who spent three years at Inter, then spoke on Inter club captain and talisman Mauro Icardi, who he believes is improving as a player.

“Mauro Icardi especially played a great game. He put the team on his shoulders and led them to victory. He is improving a lot and is also becoming better outside the penalty area.”

Colonnese also commented on the Italian national team.

“It is a new and young team and we have to hope that they will play well in these next matches. There are a lot of good players and we have to return to the very high levels like years ago”.
