Marcelo Brozovic is aiming to return from injury for the upcoming Milan derby on October 21 according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Brozovic will also no doubt be hopeful of changing his fortunes when the derby comes round. He has participated in four Milan derbies across all competitions but is yet to taste victory having lost twice and drawn twice.

The Croatian missed Sunday’s win over SPAL through injury but still turned up for international duty. Croatia nation team manager Zlatko Dalic had his condition evaluated and decided it would be best for Brozovic to return to Inter to allow him to recover.

His return to Appiano Gentile is good news for Inter, where he has become a central figure of the side in recent months. With his new status in the squad, the report goes on to state that a renewal is in the pipeline for him. The 25-year-old currently has a €50 million release clause but Inter are hoping to bump that up by €10 million to €60 million.
