Italian pundit Matteo Marani has given high praise to Inter winger Matteo Politano, going so far as to describe the 25-year-old as the best purchase Inter made in the summer, in an interview with broadcaster Sky Sport.

“The summer signing that has so far done the best at Inter for me is Matteo Politano. I think Stefan de Vrij is the second best but he still has to get used to the change of role at Inter. Even when Politano has entered as a substitute he has always done well and has always remained focused and showed he knows how to play his cards right.”

Politano arrived at Inter on a loan with redemption option basis from Sassuolo and has made 10 appearances across all competitions to date with seven of his appearances being starts. Since his arrival at San Siro, he has scored one goal for the Nerazzurri while also tallying two assists.
