La Repubblica have called for Inter and Juventus to establish civil relations and cite the fact Calciopoli being far in the past as the main reason why the two clubs should do so.

The Rome based newspaper believe that the current directors of the club could not care less about the events of years gone by and have other issues on their mind instead. Other issues include increasing their clubs revenues and growing their brands internationally.

If Italian football wishes to return to the high levels of before, La Repubblica believe that grudges held by family members of current directors need to be dropped.

Moreover, they recall an anecdote about Giuseppe Marotta who has drawn links to Inter since the announcement he would be leaving the Juventus board of directors. Following a failed swap deal involving Fredy Guarin and Mirko Vucinic, Marotta claimed there would be no more business done with Inter but as they say time heals.
