Barcelona will have to do without centre back Samuel Umtiti for their trip to San Siro to take on Inter in the Champions League in two weeks time according to a report from Spanish newspaper Sport.

The World Cup winning defender is having a problem with cartilage in his left knee and as a result will be forced to miss out.

Umtiti has missed the Spanish club’s past two games against Athletic Bilbao and Valencia in the league through injury and it is presently not all that clear as to when he will make a return to action.

While Umtiti is confirmed as out, the Blaugrana bosses are sweating upon the fitness of striker Luis Suarez who is doubtful for the game too as he deals with a knee issue of his own. The 31-year-old’s absence would be a huge boost for Inter as Barcelona would be losing one of their main attacking threats in the Uruguayan.
