According to a report from news agency ANSA, Suning are on the verge of completing a deal with Inter president Erick Thohir that will see them receive his shares in the club.

Suning are set to acquire the Indonesian tycoon’s 31.05% shares in the club that he kept when Suning came in and bought a majority stake in the club from him back in the summer of 2016.

Thohir’s exit from the club will be made official at the upcoming shareholders meeting two weeks today and it is understood that he is getting €200 million for his stake in the club from Inter’s Chinese ownership.

At the shareholders meeting, the budget will be approved and a new president crowned with Steven Zhang, the son of Inter and Suning owner Jindong Zhang, the favourite to become president of the club. Vice-president Javier Zanetti has also been linked with a promotion to president of the club too.
