Former Milan midfielder Demetrio Albertini spoke on how winning the Milan derby feels worth so much more than the three points the side receives if it takes place in the league.

“Three points are worth a thousand in the derby,” he said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport on the sidelines of an event ahead of the derby on Sunday night.

Albertini, who spent 14 years on the Rossoneri’s books then spoke on one then he would like to see more of in the future Milan derbies.

“Sunday will be a party and having friends in the new Rossoneri leadership gives me confidence but in general I would like to see the derby played with more players from each side’s academies.”
