Nicola Berti has urged Inter to “play like Inter” in this weekend’s Derby della Madonnina and is backing Mauro Icardi and Radja Nainggolan to be decisive for the Nerazzurri on Sunday.
Berti made over 200 appearances for the club in a 10-year spell during the 1980s and 1990s, establishing a reputation as a fan favourite, and spoke to Inter TV about the upcoming match at an Inter Forever event on Thursday.
“Myself and Francesco Toldo let [former Milan players] Demetrio Albertini and Cristian Brocchi win in our game of padel today,” he said, “but what matters is the game on Sunday!
“We need to play like Inter, how we know best: the derby is a fantastic and unique match in which anything can happen.
“Who could be the match-winners for Inter? I’d back Icardi and Nainggolan. I’m anxiously awaiting Sunday’s match.”
A win at San Siro would extend Inter’s winning streak in all competitions to seven games, which they have not managed since January 2017.
