Mauro Icardi believes that there was a lot left to be desired about Inter’s performance in their 2-0 Champions League group stage defeat away to Spanish giants Barcelona.
“In the first half we did not play as well as we could have. We gave them too much space and we can not afford to do that against a team like them. In the second half we pressed them better but we could have done better when we were attacking,” he said in an interview with UEFA.com after the match at the Camp Nou.
The Argentine talisman, who is taking part in his first Champions League campaign, proceeded to share his disappointment about the team performance and looked ahead to the reverse fixture in a few weeks time at San Siro.
“I am not satisfied with our performance but we will try to collect points in Milan against them. We knew we were facing a great team.”
