Former Inter striker Alessandro Altobelli believes that the Nerazzurri have reduced the gap on other sides also chasing Scudetto glory if not surpassed them but insists Juventus remain out in a league of their own.

“Juventus have a squad that can see them play two super teams that are entirely different and as such they are practically unbeatable,” Altobelli, who also had a spell with the Bianconeri, said in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 62-year-old, who is Inter’s second all-time top goalscorer with 209 goals, then spoke on the situation of both Inter and city rivals Milan in comparison to Napoli and Roma who have both been the main challengers to Juventus’ domestic dominance in recent years.

“Inter and Milan have strengthened a lot thanks to the fact that their respective owners have taken in the situation after some transitional seasons. The two Milanese clubs have reduced the gap on the likes of Napoli and Roma and perhaps have already overcome them.”
