With Radja Nainggolan sidelined through injury, it will be up to Matias Vecino to try and fill the void left by the Belgian in tonight’s match against Lazio according to a report from Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Nainggolan picked up an injury to his ankle in the 1-0 Milan derby win and his absence was felt in mid-week as Inter lost 1-0 to Barcelona. Borja Valero was given the nod to play behind Mauro Icardi at the Nou Camp but failed to put in a performance that a fit Nainggolan could/would have.

Nainggolan’s ability in both phases of play is essential to the way Inter play and Vecino will be expected to try his best to make a similar impact at the Stadio Olimpico. The Uruguayan will have to be a midfielder when Inter are out of possession but an attacking midfielder when Inter are in possession of the ball.
