Icardi, Vecino, Vrsaljko, & Asamoah To Start For Inter Against Barcelona

Ahead of Tuesday night’s Champions League match against Barcelona, Corriere dello Sport have taken a look at potential changes that Luciano Spalletti could make to the team that started the game against Genoa.

“Radja Nainggolan was rested and has recovered in time for Inter’s upcoming Champions League game. Mauro Icardi and Matias Vecino, who will certainly be starters against Barcelona, were also rested and replaced by Lautaro Martinez and Roberto Gagliardini. Even Kwadwo Asamoah and Sime Vrsaljko were rested in preparation for the Champions League clash.

“However it is still unclear who will play in the middle of defence as Miranda was preferred to Stefan de Vrij in the first leg due to technical qualities and it remains to be seen if Spalletti will make that same decision on Tuesday. Another doubt that the coach has is between Antonio Candreva and Matteo Politano, the former did not even play a single minute against Genoa, while the latter put in an excellent performance. It is likely that they will both play, but the only question is regarding which one of them will start and which one will take over from the bench.”
