Gazzetta dello Sport reviewed Inter’s performance in their 5-0 crushing of Genoa yesterday afternoon and suggest that Inter have sent a message to many of their opponents with the result.

“Genoa is definitely not Real Madrid, but if Barcelona was able to score 5 goals in the Classico and now they say that Messi may be back for Tuesday, a good answer was for Inter to score as many goals against Genoa with many of their usual starters on the bench and even prove that Nainggolan has recovered for sure by scoring a goal.

“This also sends an indirect message to Juventus as Inter gets their seventh consecutive victory in the league by beating the only team that was able to take points away from the champions and brought the Nerazzurri back to second place in the table alongside Napoli.

“This has also shown that Inter are growing stronger every week, by having a very ruthless striker in Mauro Icardi and the best defence in the league (which only conceded 6 goals so far). The midfield is also improving and the competition is growing as Gagliardini and Joao Mario received applause after being crucified in the past for their performances.”
