Capello: “Inter Are Excellent, Their Match With Barcelona Is A Test For Italian Football”

Fabio Capello has spoken on Inter and heaped huge praise upon their centre back’s in particular in an interview with La Stampa.

“Inter is an excellent team, both technically and physically. Last season they were predictable as it was a new coaches first season but he [Spalletti] changed the mentality and qualifying for the Champions League was an important step for them. They have two strong central defenders, who are among the best and strongest they have ever had.”

Capello then spoke on Inter’s next match with Barcelona in the Champions League tomorrow.

“It will be a test that will see in general if Italian clubs still have difficulties against Spanish clubs. Italian’s pressing style has not created too many problems for teams used to playing with the ball at their feet. Barcelona’s bread and butter is tiki taka even although with Valverde they have began to play more vertically.”
