Inter legend Luis Suarez has looked ahead to tomorrow night’s Champions League match against his former club Barcelona by reflecting on his arrival at Inter among other things in an interview with Spanish newspaper AS.

“When I arrived at Inter they were a normal team. I came from Barcelona, who were a European team. I did not know what could happen but later we became one of the strongest teams on the continent, in such a short time. This is very important for me, it’s not that I did it all by myself, but with my arrival the club started to grow, especially with the first Champions League that we won against Real Madrid who had won five in a row.”

Suarez proceeded to speak on the Grande Inter side and their unprecedented success.

“Everyone knew the formation of that team, it made no difference who the opposition were as we won the European cup twice in a row and in the third year we reached the final in Lisbon but Jair was injured and we lost against Celtic.”

Suarez then spoke on the Barcelona of today compared to the ones of recent years and gave his thoughts on tomorrow’s game.

“This year Barcelona do not excite me like they have in the past. Their best games this season against Inter and Real were both without Lionel Messi.

“It will be a very difficult game for Inter, more so for Inter because they need a result most.”
