Laurent Blanc believes that after a difficult period, that has seen Italian football be a far cry away from the glorious 1990s it enjoyed, it has now changed and has done so in the right way.
“Italian football has changed a lot. It dominated in the 1990s but then ended up in a long dark tunnel but now it has come out and has changed in the right way without giving up its tactical culture and by adding an attacking mentality,” he said in an interview with Milan based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.
“The results of this can also be seen in Europe. I follow my Inter carefully, who are now a team to be reckoned with, even though the first leg was dominated by Barcelona, who are more used to playing in the Champions League. This trend also concerns Roma, Milan and Lazio and of course Juventus who remain the engine of Italian football.”
