Atalanta starlet Dejan Kulusevski’s recent contract renewal is a move that the Bergamo based club made in order to deter interest of Inter in his services according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

The 18-year-old Swede has signed a new deal through until the end of the 2021/22 campaign and it is understood that Inter sporting director Piero Ausilio has been keeping a close eye on him.

Kulusevski, who has dual Macedonian nationality, has been with Atalanta since the summer of 2017 and currently plays for their Primavera side. This season the central midfielder, who can also play on either wing, has made six appearances across all competitions and scored two goals and tallied one assist along the way.

It does of course remain to be seen whether or not the new contract with the Stadio Atleti Azzurri D’Italia outfit will put the Nerazzurri off of courting the Swedish youth international further.
