Sassuolo chief executive Giovanni Carnevali shared his happiness with the way Matteo Politano has performed since swapping the Neroverdi for Inter during the summer transfer window.

“I am happy for him. He is a quality player but also a very good guy. He proved to be a great professional with us, he immediately forgot Napoli’s interest by playing another six months with our shirt and then another great club arrived for him in Inter,” Carnevali said in an interview with Radio Sportiva.

Carnevali then spoke on Giuseppe Marotta who has drawn links to Inter in recent weeks.

“I have a great friendship with him, he is a great director. I know he has been approached by several teams and he will have no problem in finding another club, but he will choose carefully. I hope that a director like Marotta will come back in to football as quickly as possible because the whole Italian movement needs big directors and there are not many like Marotta.”
