Genoa midfielder Miguel Veloso believes that the fixture pile-up is behind the up and down form his side have had recently that saw them go from a fine performance against Juventus before being battered 5-0 by Inter at the weekend.

“We picked up a good point with Juventus, failed to win with Udinese, were a little unlucky against Milan then we lost badly to Inter,” the Portuguese midfielder reminded Gazzetta dello Sport.

“We are not used to playing three games in a week and it was not easy even for Ivan Juric to get his ideas across to us in such a short space of time. Now we need to prepare well for our next match with Napoli, who are a solid and compact team, with great quality.”
