Croatia manager Zlatko Dalic has discussed the situation of Sime Vrsaljko after the Inter defender was forced off the pitch through injury during their 2-1 UEFA Nations League defeat to England.

“He felt pain in his leg, but it does not seem to be anything particularly serious. I hope that it is nothing serious for him and it should not keep him out of action for too long. What he needs is rest, he has shown real signs of fatigue,” he told a report from Dnevnik Nove TV post-match at Wembley.

Vrsaljko has been bothered by an injury to his knee since the World Cup and has experienced multiple relapses, including this one. Perhaps now with international football out the way until March, it will give the 26-year-old some time to rest up and fully recover.

Vrsaljko joined Inter in the summer on a season long loan from Atletico Madrid and due to his niggling injury he has been limited to just seven appearances.
