Speaking in an interview with Corriere Fiorentino, Marco Benassi has given La Viola fans assurances over his future with the club amid transfer rumours linking him with a move elsewhere.
“I have a wonderful relationship with the Fiorentina fans, plus the city is fantastic. Do I want to stay for a long time? I am in Florence and at Fiorentina thanks to God. Our objective cannot change because of some bad games, for everything we went through last season and the value of the team.”
Benassi has drawn links to Inter, the club whose youth academy he graduated from. As per the various reports doing the rounds in the media, Inter are looking to bring in more homegrown players in order to comply with UEFA competition squad list regulations. Benassi’s Viola teammates Federico Chiesa, Alban Lafont and Cristiano Biraghi have all also drawn links with the Nerazzurri in recent weeks.
