Inter announced a new two-year partnership with sports drink company Gatorade on Tuesday.

Gatorade, which is part of the PepsiCo Group, will act as the Nerazzurri’s Official Sports Drink until the end of the 2019-20 season, supplying refreshments for the first team both during training and on match days.

Their product is recognised as the world’s no. 1 sports drink for its ability to replenish the liquids and electrolytes athletes lose in sweat, something the company have developed via their own research centre, the Gatorade Sports Science Institute.

The partnership represents the latest in a series of lucrative sponsorship deals Inter’s owners Suning have attracted to the club, as they continue their quest to spread the black-and-blue brand around the world.

Sales and partnerships management director Giorgio Brambilla said the Nerazzurri were enthusiastic about the deal and described Gatorade as an industry leader.

“We hope this new partnership helps both organisations move towards a future full of success,” he said.

PepsiCo Italy CEO Marcello Pincelli added: “Becoming partners with Inter, a club which has clearly taken steps forward in recent years and has just qualified for the UEFA Champions League, gives us great satisfaction.

“This partnership represents the shared values we have in terms of determination and a desire to achieve increasingly ambitious goals.”
