Pierpaolo Marino has taken a look at Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Marotta’s departure from Juventus and imminent arrival at Inter.

“Juventus are losing his experience, his authority, his charisma and also an important director, given that he has known all the phases and periods of football in the last 40 years. He combines experience and modernity in daily practice and is a fully-fledged director and a great communicator,” he explained in an interview with Tuttosport.

“I think that Marotta’s exit is due to a physiological strain on relations with the president who is such an authoritative figure but certainly it is a natural situation that has happened to me several times. It is difficult for the relationship to last more than six or seven years, even if results are achieved, and those of Juventus in the last few years have been excellent.

“Marotta will be an uncomfortable competitor for Juventus, first of all because of his know-how on the growth of the club that can be applied to Inter, because there are similarities such as the economic solidity of the club, the desire to grow and a young president who wants to absorb a lot from Marotta.

“Will it work for him at Inter? It depends on whether all the components will be available and the autonomy that will be granted by the owner. Andrea Agnelli grew up in Juventus’ changing rooms and has always frequented the Juventus environment, Zhang does not have that experience. Marotta will need more autonomy in relation to the club. At Juventus he had an excellent relationship with Allegri, he will have to build one with Spalletti. The good relationship between manager and coach is neuralgic to any success.”
