Matteo Politano is going through a bright spell in his career as he is a starter at Inter, one of the players who was shining in the Champions League, and who has now scored his first goal for the national team.

Milano based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport emphasizes his importance for Inter’s attack in terms of his numbers and contributions in today’s newspaper reporting that: “Inter have put their trust in Politano and Politano has repaid that trust by shining on the pitch.”

According to the report: “His numbers do a better job of summarizing the situation better than words can: he has played every game of the season so far 16, just like Perisic and Handanovic and is involved in many of Inter’s attacking plays. He has the most attempted dribbles with 34, which is 6 more than Perisic. He is second in terms of chances created, with Ivan Perisic being ahead of him by just 1 extra chance created, 25 for Perisic and 24 for Politano. He has only managed to score two goals but he is behind Perisic and Icardi in shots taken and fourth in terms of shots on goal. Politano is doing a fantastic job offensively and is always present whenever Inter are on the attack.”
