The refereeing appointments for this weekend’s Champions League fixture card have been announced by UEFA and it has seen Cuneyt Cakir appointed to referee Tottenham Hotspur vs Inter.
The experienced Turkish referee will be assisted on the night by countrymen Bahattin Duran and Tarik Ongun. Mustafa Eyisoy will serve in the role of the fourth official while Hüseyin Göçek and Barış Şimşek will be the additional assistants at Wembley.
42-year-old Cakir has refereed 16 games across various competitions this season, half of which have come in his native Turkey. Cakir has handed out some 50 yellow cards, dished out one sending off through the two yellow cards method and awarded four penalties in the process.
The game is scheduled for a 21:00 PM CET kick-off on Wednesday night and Spurs find themselves in a must win situation while Inter can secure their place in the knockout stage of the competition by simply avoiding defeat.
