Roma manager Eusebio Di Francesco’s future is on the line this week according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.
If Di Francesco’s Giallorossi are to lose their next two games with Real Madrid in the Champions League and Inter in Serie A, it could lead to the club management considering a change on the bench.
Ultimately, it is a position that the Roma management do not wish to find themselves in but as per the report, former Fiorentina manager Paulo Sousa is the man that they would aim to bring in as the former Sassuolo manager’s replacement at the Stadio Olimpico.
However, the report also details that sporting director Monchi could play a part in keeping Di Francesco in the club should the worst case scenario occur where they lose both of the games. Monchi is close to Di Francesco and is well aware that all problems that any team faces are not solely down to the man on the bench. Should Di Francesco be threatened with the sack, Monchi will offer the club his resignation.
