In today’s paper edition of the newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport highlight a very interesting yet not very optimistic statistic about Luciano Spalletti’s past when playing on English soil.

The Nerazzurri coach Spalletti has suffered 7 defeats in all of his previous 7 games in England, conceding 15 goals and only managing to score 2: “Tomorrow at Wembley, Luciano will try to do against Tottenham what he has been incapable of doing in Middlesbrough, Manchester, London, and Liverpool. From Middlesbrough – Roma which ended in 1-0 in February 2006 to Liverpool – Zenit resulted in a 3-1 defeat in February 2013, everything has gone wrong.”

“Between Champions League, Europa League or UEFA Cup games, the result has always been the same: 7 defeats out of 7. With 5 of those ending in 1-0 defeats, and one of them was a 7-1 thrashing by Sir Alex Ferguson’s Man United in April 2007” the Gazzetta concludes.

Luciano Spalletti has had a lot to say in the past following each of those defeats, but tomorrow it will be his chance to redeem himself as Inter are looking for a positive result against Tottenham.
