Inter Yet To Lose An Away Match When Radja Nainggolan Is On The Pitch

Inter’s Belgian midfielder Radja Nainggolan is slowly but surely working his way back into form ahead of the Nerazzurri’s next challenge in the penultimate group stage match against Tottenham in the Champions League.

In today’s paper edition of the newspaper Milano based Gazzetta dello Sport highlights the former Roma midfielder stating that: “His friend Verthongen is playing in a Tottenham that is letting the defender go for free when his contract expires. Maybe this is an opportunity to advise Piero Ausilio or maybe instead just give Inter a dream night at Wembley.”

The Gazzetta continues: “Nainggolan is the guy that always delivers, even better, has always delivered, especially when Inter has played away from San Siro. In the three defeats away from home, Radja has not been on the pitch and this is not a coincidence, it is thanks to a tactical choice that can only be done with the Belgian on the pitch.”

According to the report: “He is the perfect player for the defensive and attacking phase and he has been crucial to Inter although he has not been at his best. In the eleven games with Nainggolan, Inter has only conceded 6 goals so his value added in a game when a draw takes Inter to the knock-out stage of the Champions League is obvious.”

“Another statistic that supports the importance of the midfielder is that Spalletti has a 2.5 point average in the Serie A and the Champions League combined, with Radja on the pitch, something that you win the Scudetto with and could bring Inter well beyond that final 16 that today would be considered a great result” the Gazzetta concludes.
