Nainggolan Likely To Miss Roma vs Inter

In all probability, Radja Nainggolan will have to miss out on Sunday’s match against his former employers Roma through injury according to a report from Gazzetta dello Sport.

Still nursing the ankle injury from the Milan derby, the Belgian leaned on his foot awkwardly at Wembley on Wednesday night against Tottenham Hotspur and caused himself a muscle injury. He will now set his sights on making a return to action after Inter’s next game after the Giallorossi in Juventus.

There is also the problem of general conditional physics to contend with, something a player can only build up through playing games. However, he probably could have done with a longer time out after his injury in the Milan derby and Inter should have stopped him from coming back so soon despite his desire to be back and available for manager Luciano Spalletti.

The Milan based newspaper recall that he played many a game while with Roma while in a ‘precarious’ condition by often playing in pain but with him hitting 30, it would probably be better for him to take a longer time out to recover than forcing a quick return and risk relapsing.
