Milan city Mayor – and known Inter fan – Giuseppe ‘Beppe’ Sala has shared his desire to see Inter consolidate their league placing this season and qualify for the Champions League knockout stages.

“Juventus is stronger than us let’s not hide away from that. In my opinion the league this season already had a designated winner and I do not think that Inter can aspire to win the title this season. What should their target be instead? I hope that Inter can consolidate their position by staying in the top four. Another important thing for the Inter is to then progress in the Champions League,” Sala said in an interview with Il Giornale.

Due to other engagements, Sala will be unable to take the game in. This is something he experienced recently as Inter lost to Tottenham in the Champions League and he is hopeful of Inter achieving a different result this time round.

“I was flying from Tokyo during Inter’s last match in the Champions League against Tottenham and when I turned my phone on I had a bitter surprise. I hope the same thing will not be repeated tomorrow.”
