Juventus forward Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed an anecdote which lead to his realisation about Juventus having to win games against Inter and Torino in an interview with Gazzetta dello Sport.

“One of the warehouse workers told me this morning: ‘Please, win against Torino, otherwise my grandma…’

“At that point, I realised that Juventus refused to lose two games: the one with Inter and the one with Torino, we must win them.”

As part of the interview he also invited Lionel Messi to join him in playing in Italy.

“I have played in England, Spain, Italy, Portugal and for my national team, while he is still in Spain. Maybe he needs me more… For me, life is a challenge, I like it and I like to make people happy. I would like him to come to Italy one day. I hope he accepts the challenge like me, but if he’s happy there then I respect that. He is a fantastic player and a good guy, but I do not miss anything here. This is my new life and I am happy.”
