Gabriel ‘Gabigol’ Barbosa reflected on the season he has just had while on loan at Santos as he picked up yet more personal accolades at the Bola de Prata ceremony following the earlier awards he received from the Brazilian football federation.

“Individually it was really a fantastic year for me. I was back at a club that I love and I have been busy since the first day I arrived,” he is quoted as saying by ESPN Brazil.

“It is an honour to receive these trophies, it will undoubtedly be a season that will remain etched in my memory. Now I will go on vacation and recharge the batteries.”

The 22-year-old striker’s loan deal with Santos is due to expire at the end of this month. His future remains up in the air however and it remains to be seen what will happen to him upon his return to Inter.
