Ajax midfielder Frenkie de Jong has addressed the ongoing rumours concerning his future and confirmed that there are ‘several interested clubs’ in his services.

“I have not made a decision yet and Ajax have not reached an agreement yet with with any club. I don’t know yet what I will do at the end of the season, whether I will stay for an extra year or if I will join another club—and if so, which club that will be,” the youngster, who has attracted interest from Barcelona and Inter among others told Fox Sports.

“Everything is still possible and there is no final decision yet. There are several interested clubs, Ajax are also speaking to a number of clubs and so is my agent. I am not going to mention any names, though. That is not up to me. We have permission from Ajax to speak to other clubs, they are aware of it.

His father John de Jong has meanwhile confirmed that his son is all but certain to be leaving the Dutch giants.

“He has to decide for himself, he is smart enough. It is 95% that he will leave Ajax. Barcelona would be the best choice in terms of climate, but it is all about understanding who has the right financial conditions,” he told Voetbal Primeur.
