Borja Valero has reflected upon Inter’s elimination from the Champions League following their 1-1 draw at home to PSV Eindhoven.

“There is lots of bitterness and disappointment. We tried all the way and we had the game in our hands from the beginning. It is a pity that they got that goal, it was tough and we drew which was not enough.

“We knew that they could be dangerous on the counter attack. There was so much frenzy in those moments but we remained in the game and until the end we could have qualified. We did not give up and Lautaro could have made it 2-1 to us,” he explained in an interview with Inter TV.

The Spaniard then went on to discuss the Europa League, the competition that Inter have dropped down to as a result of their elimination.

“It is not the right time to talk about it, but from tomorrow we will.”
