Matteo Politano reflected on Inter’s draw with PSV Eindhoven which consequently saw them crash out of the Champions League due to Tottenham Hotspur’s draw with Barcelona in the other game in the group.

“There is so much disappointment. We made too many mistakes in the first half. In the second half we grew a lot, we created a lot of goal scoring opportunities. After Mauro Icardi’s goal we had to keep pushing but we had used up a lot of energy earlier,” he said in an interview with Inter TV.

He then went on to look ahead to the Europa League and targeted reaching the final.

“Personal merits do not count for anything, now we have to be strong and immediately think about the league and then the Europa League. The Europa League is a competition in which we can get to the final. We are a young team and we look forward to the future.”
