Romania national team manager Cosmin Contra has addressed the recent transfer rumours that have seen Romanian talent Ianis Hagi linked with a transfer to Inter.

“When you consider the level of the Nerazzurri I would say he is technically ready but I do not know if he is physically up to it,” he said in an interview with Sport.ro.

Hagi, the son of the legendary Romanian footballer Gheorghe Hagi, currently plies his trade for his father’s club Vitorul Constanta.

The 20-year-old attacking midfielder has been with his current side – who he is captain of – since the start of the year and this season he has made 17 appearances across all competitions, scoring six goals and tallying two assists in the process.

Hagi is no stranger to Italian football either having previously had a spell with Fiorentina. A promising talent at Primavera level, Hagi struggled to force his way in to the first team which was the main reason behind his move to Vitorul.
