Inter and Milan are the only clubs capable of disrupting Juventus’s dominance in Serie A over the next few years, according to former Nerazzurri coach Gian Piero Gasperini.

Max Allegri’s side have picked up 46 points from a possible 48 in the league this season following victory in Saturday’s Turin derby, leaving them 14 points clear of the Nerazzurri as the halfway mark approaches.

However Gasperini thinks Inter and city rivals Milan are the only two clubs with enough financial clout to threaten the Bianconeri anytime soon.

“Until Milan and Inter get back to being Milan and Inter it will all be very easy for Juventus,” the Atalanta manager told Corriere dello Sport on Sunday.

“The Milan clubs are the only ones who could match them in terms of revenue.

“It’s going to take a long time to reduce the gap between Juventus and the rest, though. In fact it seems like that gap is getting bigger.”

Gasperini also had words of encouragement for Luciano Spalletti, who has received ferocious criticism from media and supporters following Inter’s Champions League elimination in midweek.

“It’s extremely difficult to be a manager in Italy because you never know what could happen,” he said.

“Credit doesn’t exist in Italian football.”
