Former Inter defender Massimo Paganin spoke with Inter TV to share his thoughts on the Nerazzurri’s 1-o triumph over Udinese yesterday evening.

“On an emotional level, Inter was affected by what happened on Tuesday. In fact, against Udinese there was a fear in making the last pass or attempting something when attacking. The opponents defended very well but the Beneamata team was still recovering and did not do very well. Inter spent so much time nervous that they missed some of the competitive nastiness that they needed.

He then spoke on Inter and the Europa League.

“From a psychological point of view, the team will slowly recover. Inter must look to win the Europa League. To win a trophy you have to have something more about you and after all Inter have tradition in this competition. Last year Atletico Madrid finished third in their group and went on to win the Europe League. Inter must aim to win it. Of course it will not be easy because there is well-equipped teams like Chelsea but this competitions helps you learn to win and will prepare Inter for the Champions League next year. It is very important and should not be underestimated.”
