Former Inter defender Francesco ‘Ciccio’ Colonnese reacted to Inter being drawn against Austrian club Rapid Wien in the Europa League round of 32.

“Rapid Wien are a modest team, the draw went very well at Inter. The Nerazzurri find themselves against a lesser team, who are doing badly in the league and lost 6-1 in their last game so it is a very favourable tie,” he said in an interview with FCInter1908.it.

He then went on to discuss what he feels Inter should be aiming to do in the competition.

“Inter must win the Europa League. A competitive and strong squad was built, so the goal must be that. The last time they won the competition was back in 1998 and I was there, it’s been so long so the Nerazzurri must try to win this competition.

“It will not be easy because there are other strong teams but the minimum goal for Inter should be to reach the final. The team has improved compared to last year so it has the obligation to have an important European campaign. There are many strong players and therefore the team is ready to compete in all the competitions.”
