Massimo Paganin has commented on Inter’s upcoming Europa League tie with Rapid Wien that is to take place in the new year.
“They are a very beatable team that should not trouble Inter too much.Inter need to put everything from the Champions League behind them and at this stage Inter can not make mistakes. Due to the Austrian league’s long winter break, Rapid’s first official match after it will be the one with Inter and this gives a further advantage to Inter.”
Paganin then went on to speak about the January transfer window.
“I do not think that in the January market Inter need to intervene in any way because the team was already built perfectly in July.”
He also went on to discuss the benefits of Beppe Marotta’s arrival as the club’s chief executive officer.
“He is a director who will bring his experience into a structure that was already being transformed. Marotta is an added value to a project under construction at Inter.”
The former defender then discussed Mauro Icardi.
“He has slightly distorted the way which he plays football. Now he is coming out of thepenalty area and is making a personal journey. He has matured a lot both as a man and as a player on the field. When you play to win, a different mechanism is triggered and you ask a lot more of yourself.”
