Former Inter favourite Christian Vieri has commented on what he believes Inter club captain Mauro Icardi should be earning as reports about a contract renewal with the club are continuously circulating.
Speaking during television programme Tiki Taka, Vieri said: “You can not give less than between €10-12 million a year to a player like Icardi. If Inter were to sell him they would have to sign two players to replace them because where do you find someone that scores between 25-30 goals every season and always scores at San Siro?”
Reports that have been doing the rounds have suggested Icardi and his representatives are looking for an annual salary of €8 million while Inter are only currently prepared to offer around €6 million.
The 25-year-old Argentine striker, who has been with the club since a 2013 move from Sampdoria, is already the highest-paid member of the Nerazzurri squad and is under contract until the end of the 2020/21 season.
